Tests for the micro and macro.
Not to long ago, in my ongoing search to sperate bull from truth, I ran across an article that hypothisized that the reason the indian nations that once dwelt free in this land were conquered, was because they failed a test. The root of the test was basicly this.......
Work together, cooperatively, OR, go down in flames.
If this was indeed true, and it seems very possible to me it was, then that was a test of both the micro (self) and macro (whole).
Flash forward to present day and it is no more apparent than right now, that test is being repeated in a different way for this place called america. I am going to even go against my better judgement, and going to point out where one of those tests for the macro are playing out.
So you better listen close.
The homeless problem is no longer on the streets of skid row. It is now in your face, because everyone was apathetic and blind to the problem, the problem has now SPREAD. It will continue to spread until it is PROPERLY ADDRESSED. That addressing of the problem WILL NOT come from any government or orginization, because ALL OF THEM ARE THE CAUSE.
If you see a homeless person or see a homeless family, you would do well to stop for 30 seconds and study their situation and put yourself in their shoes, regardless of how they ended up there, just imagine what it is like to be that person at that exact time....for 30 seconds. I will wager most people couldnt imagine it for 5 seconds, because they would flinch away and do their best to strike it out of their minds......and hearts.
Then if you have an extra five dollars I would further suggest you spend another 10 seconds wondering when the last time they had eaten.
One arguement that always comes up at this point of this type of conversation is "well they will just use it to buy drugs", and while this is a valid point which does play out it is the LAZY excuse.
Well if they are just going to use it for drugs, get off your lazy butt and go to a supermarket and buy five dollars worth of apples.....spaz. :P
Point is this is a major test both on the micro and macro.
