Surpassing synchronicity

When I was young my mom put me into a presbyterian private school, so from grades 3-6 I was told all kinds of fanciful stories. These fanciful stories sounded kind of like the comic books and sci-fi / fantasy stories I read, and saw on TV. I would brag how when I grew up I was going to be a super hero, instead of a fireman, or astronau,t or (-+GAG+-) president.

People from both church and not church would tell me there is no such thing in those non-biblical stories I read. Yet they would all swear up and down that the super hero type feats in the bible were true and did happen.

This, in the mind of a child is an instant disconnect.

At least it was for me.

Telling a child that he can't have super powers when in the past people supposedly did, will get you branded an idiot, by a child faster than just about anything in the world.

Since this happened almost immediately upon entering private school, the brain washing really never cemented my beliefs, and in fact acted as a subconcious buffer for any other kind of religious propaganda from that point on.

The one thing that did sink in though was the fear factor of damnation versus eternal life. That seems to be the hang up for most people in regards to the christian religions. So as a child, through my early teen years I mulled over that problem for quite some time. By the time I got to high school I had logiced it out to this.

If I believe I gain alot but lose a little. If I do not believe I gain little but lose alot. This is reasoning anyone comes to if they are thinking long term. It isn't hard to figure out. Funny thing is I recently read a blog where the blogger mentions the mathmetician pascal came to the same conclusion in his day and age, and IF I was still where I was 30 years ago, I would have considered that to be synchronistic.

BUT......

As time marched on other realities and truths reared their ugly heads in many forms and varieties.

Such as.

The bible explicitly commands no words will be changed in the word of god....EVER. YET history shows that rivisionists have revised and changed the bible countless times over countless ages. Books were added, books were omitted, on more than one occasion. You expect me or anyone else to believe something written thousands of years ago was not changed over and over again, when everything else in the world was....and still is?

Yeah right.

Old testement says kill everyone who isn't you. New testament says love everyone like yourself. That's a contradiction, and you cant have it both ways, even if you are a god.

Then there is the human factor.

From the men who preached at my church to the men who preach on TV, to all the men who have ever run this country, claiming to follow the word's of god and the bible.

The ones from the past owned slaves and slept around, as well as other telling inconsistencies spotlighted throughout history. The ones I have seen myself, personaly. divorcing while they preached reamian together no matter what. The ones I have seen on TV preaching adaultery is a sin, yet getting busted for that exact thing. Tons of other stories detailing molesation of children, that continues from this day and stretching back decades.

All lies based on lies, built on lies.

Truth is....in regards to religion....no one knows, and if they say they do they are lying, just like they lie about everything else.

They don't really speak for god or believe the heaven versus hell thing.

If they did they would not be sleeping around, they certainly wouldn't be lying about it, and they would definately not be second guessing what god thinks.

If they really believed, they would be peeing in their pants on a daily basis, out of fear, for doing the exact opposite of what they preach, while at the same time, guilting everyone else not to do those things.

Same goes for anyone who says "bible this" or "god that".

That is not to say there is no truth in the bible.....like I said it has been revised. Since logic is what logic is.....a universal thing, and truth is what truth is....a universal thing, then it is not to hard to pick out the truths in most things, bible included.

They aren't the super hero parts though, they are the simple parts.

Don't lie.

Don't kill.

Don't steal.

Treat others how you want to be treated.

To end this post, here is another bit of logic and truth, proven time after time.

If you spend a little effort and attempt to pay attention, the liars will do most of the work for you and torpedo themselves every time in both the short term and long term, and expose themselves as liars....literally and figuratively.
